I had to take two photos in order to show the color as well as the fly. The one on the right is with a flash, and the shadow the clear acrylic casts distorted the fly. The one on the left is without a flash, to show that the upper part of the stopper is completely clear.

A resin is then added to make the wood hard. A color can also be added to the resin, in this case green, to color the naturally light wood. Typically this wood is full of checks and voids, which add to its beauty.
